Thanks for everyone's interest.
Registration is now filled for this event.
Our next and final Bat Walk of the season will take place Tues. Sept. 6, starting at 7:45 (note the later start time).
Registration will open for the September Bat Walk after August 16th. Stay tuned.
Join a night-time walk through Guild Park to detect, tally and record native bats through the site.
It’s part of the Toronto Zoo’s Bat Conservation Program. The route involves walking along Guild Park’s open areas and unimproved trails.
The Bat Walk starts and ends at the east parking lot (meet outside to the east of the Guild Inn Estate Gazebo - watch for the sign).
The walk takes about 75 minutes. It's free but requires pre-registration. Bat Walks at Guild Park are limited to 20 participants due to the number of bat detection devices available.
Flashlights, good walking shoes and appropriate night-time clothing are all recommended. Because the walks start after dark, we require adults to accompany young participants. No pets please. The event is weather-dependent and will be cancelled in case of rain/inclement conditions.
Organized by Friends of Guild Park.
