Celebrate Summer at Guild Park and Gardens
Sunday August 28 2:00pm - 4:00pm we invite you to join us for the final public walking tour at Guild Park in summer 2016. Enjoy seeing the art and architecture on display at spectacular Guild Park, including the new Monument Walk.If you haven't yet heard the stories behind the repositioned items along Guild Park's new Monument Walk, Sunday is a great opportunity.
Friends of Guild Park volunteers will highlight more than a dozen newly-installed sculptures and heritage features in the 88-acre park.
The free afternoon tour takes about 90-minutes, or longer depending on interest of participants. The walk is designed to give first-time and returning visitors - families, history buffs, art lovers, travellers and local residents - an in-depth appreciation of the 88-acre site.
Topics covered on the tour include insights about Guild Park's:
• forest, geology and gardens
• public art, created by some of Canada’s top sculptors, and
• legacy as the Canadian artists’ community founded by philanthropists Rosa and Spencer Clark, who owned the site for almost 50 years.
The volunteer-led tour is free, Memberships available from tour guides and donations welcome. Join, extend or renew your support of Guild Park and Gardens future activities and revitalization. Visit our FaceBook page.
