A FINE LINE: STUDIO CRAFTS IN ONTARIO FROM 1930 TO THE PRESENT

By Gail Crawford

Search A Crucible of Idealism and Reality pg. 33 to read about Rosa and Spencer Clark's manufacture and promotion of the Thackery table top loom in Ontario and around the world.
Over two decades 30,000 looms were shipped and 10,000 users were trained.  They were popular with vocational schools, rehabilitation hospitals and the home user who could purchase and $18 loom with convenient monthly payment of $2.50.  Rosa Clark often provided demonstrations and wore tailored outfits made from cloth she had woven herself.
