Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at Guild Park and Gardens
In 2013 Friends of Guild Park & Gardens revived this annual tradition which had started the Holiday Season at the Guild Inn for years. Each year is better than the last and everyone is welcome to join the merriment. Carols are sung, hot chocolate is served, stockings and hand-made decorations are hung. We even have a special visit from Santa. The lights shine in the darkness and have been a beacon of hope for the future of Guild Park. In December 2017 over 300 friends joined our celebration on the beautiful Guild Inn Estates Gazebo. Unfortunately, the park's aging 40-foot spruce tree didn't survive the two years of construction nearby . In response to a request from the Friends of Guild Park, the City of Toronto planted a White Spruce on the park grounds in the Spring of 2018. As that tree grows, so will the tradition of Guild Park's Christmas Tree Lighting! |
